Evans, William (23 June 1870 - 25 March 1961)

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon from the Myre Funeral Home for William Evans, 90, who died last Saturday in Bethel Nursing Home at Arpin.  Burial was made in the Loyal Cemetery.

Born June 23, 1870, in Cardiff, Wales, Mr. Evans came to Clark County in 1907, when he bought 80 acres of timberland in the Town of Loyal.  He cleared the tract and farmed there until 1942, when he moved into the city of Loyal.

Surviving are Mrs. Evans and five children: Mrs. Herman (Jennie) Bires of Eugene, Ore.; Mrs. Henry (Cecelia) Anderegg of Loyal, Mrs. Carl (Rosetta) Olstinski of Racine; Mrs. Clayton (Irene) Basset of Fort Wayne, Ind.; and William Jr. at Loyal; twenty grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services were held March 28, from the Myre Funeral Home for William Evans, 90, who died March 25, at Bethel Convalescent Home in Arpin, where he had resided for the last year.  The Rev. Paul Doering of the Methodist Church was in charge and burial was made in the Loyal Cemetery.

Pallbearers were: Henry Boe, Elwin Cook, Alfred Gray, H. E. Catlin, Vern O. Kauffman and Ray Prior.

James Colby sang "One Sweetly Solemn Thought" and "Beyond the Sunset," accompanied at the organ by Mrs. Byron Zepplin.

People from out of town attending were: Mrs. William Evans and Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Smith of Arpin; William Evans, Jr., Mr. and Mrs. Henry Leonard, Twilla Evans and Sharon Evans, all of Marshfield; Mr. and Mrs. Carl Olstinski, Mr. and Mrs. Dale Olstinski, Carl Olstinski, Jr., and Mr. and Mrs. Roland Olstinski, all of Racine; Mr. and Mrs. Otto Mohler, and Kimberly Mohler, all of Hadden Field, N. J.; and Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Basset and Diane of Fort Wayne, Ind.
